2020 Donruss Baseball

2020 Donruss Baseball

Donruss produced baseball sets from 1981 to 1998 (they went bankrupt in 98) and then from 2001 to 2005. This was a total of 23 sets. They lost their license from MLB so there wasn’t a flagship set from 2006-2013.

In 2007, they started to release a set called Elite Extra Edition. The cards were mainly prospects and draft picks.

Panini had ended up buying Donruss and they started to release new sets under the Donruss name in 2014. The 2020 release is the seventh year of the Panini/Donruss series. These are not official MLB sets so they do not have the team names/logos on the cards. They usually remove these by airbrushing the photos. The front has player’s name and the city he plays in. In addition, it has the Donruss 20 logo. It appears that none of the cards have a landscape design. This is considered Panini’s flagship release.
