This is one of the earliest football releases each year and is one of my favorite sets.
Last year there were 300 cards but I’m really liking the fact that there are 400 base cards in this year’s set. The first 300 cards are veterans, 301 to 400 are rookies with the last 10 being short prints. To be honest, I like having larger sets but I don’t like having former players in the base set. I think these types of cards should be in either a subset or an insert. I’d rather have a team’s third string running back included than John Elway or Roger Stauback.
The cards tend to be sorted by teams, for example cards 20-28 are all Baltimore Ravens. However, it seems like if a player switched teams they were just left in the same spot. So, Russell Wilson is noted as being with the Broncos but is among the Seahawk cards.
While ripping packs you will find different colored Parallels and a variety of inserts. These inserts include City Limits (10), Decorated (30), Heroes (15), Franchise Favorites (15), Highlight Reel (20), Living Legends (30), Prestigious Pros (25), Slingers (30), Season Greetings (25), and Youth Movement (20). It is also possible to find autographed cards.
